Five Highlights from 2016 and 2017 Blogger Goals!
Hey, guys. I know I have really been neglecting the blog lately, and I'm so sorry about that. I got really sick this week, and I'm still trying to lose this cough.
2016 was a really memorable year. There were a lot of great moments, a few bad ones, and overall this year was unforgettable. Now I'm more reflective than ever before. I thought today, seeing as it's New Years Eve, would be a good time to share five highlights from this year that I will always remember.
5. I recorded a Christmas album!! In case you missed my blog post about it several weeks ago, I recorded my Christmas album, title All About Christmas. It was a great project to finish in my senior year of high school. :) Listen to it here.
4. I finished my book!! Back in March, I wrote the last words of my fantasy novel, Into The Desert. I am SO excited to be almost finished editing it! I am taking the editing process slow, but the book itself is written cover to cover, and that's a great feeling.
3. I took an amazing family vacation. In May, I went with my family to Door County in Wisconsin and took a great ten-day vacation. We have lots of great memories going adventure rafting and mini golfing, as well as relaxing and taking in all the beautiful views of Lake Michigan.
2. I started this blog!! This blog has been so much fun to create, and I literally have made SO many friends through this. I have been able to share my writing experiences and even some things about my personal life here, and you guys have been SO encouraging! I love reading your comments. :) Thank you for making this blog possible.
1. I made lifelong friends. This year, I made more friends than I have in the rest of my lifetime. Helped by this blog, my joining of Twitter, and even what God has been teaching me about myself and others, I can now safely and happily say that I have good friends who love me. And...I haven't been able to say that for a LONG TIME, not since I was a child. This summer, I became best friends with someone named Abby, and she changed my life. She has helped me grow as a Christian and as a human being. And...having a close friendship with someone again, I began to see that closing myself in and being alone wasn't the best way to life. This year, I have learned to be open and honest and vulnerable with everyone, as much as possible. And that has led me to so many friends. :) I hate to name names because I know I will forget someone, but I have to name some...Abby, Kori, Ben, Meg, Rachel, Rebekah, Jonathan, Thomas, Maddie, Hailey, Elanor, all my Twitter peeps, everyone else I missed, and ALL MY BLOG READERS, thanks for growing closer with me this year. :)
Kudos to you if you read all of that last one. XD Anyway, let's get on to my plans for this blog in 2017!
First of all, I created a survey with SurveyMonkey that I would like EVERYONE to fill out if they have time. It's very short and won't take you more than a minute. It just asks basic questions about how you use my blog. Please click here and fill out the survey so I can start improving my blog!
Secondly, I have stopped talking about writing for about a month, if you haven't noticed. But I plan to keep talking about writing!! There will definitely be more writing-themed posts in the coming months, especially since I'm almost finished with the editing of my book! :D
Another thing I want to do in 2017 is have more guest blog posts! I was doing that every month for a while, but in December there was no guest blog post. But I'm going to bring it back! I will be contacting some of my readers to see if any of you are interested in writing guest blog posts too. :)
2016 has been great, everyone. I will remember all the good things about this year forever. Thank you so much, everyone, for reading!!! See you in 2017. :)

AH NO YOU'RE SICK ALSO? D: My family is also, it's just that time of year I guess. EVERYONE IS SICK. XD Honestly I don't mind that much though because I'm just sick enough to not have to do school. :P
ReplyDeleteAlso your survey is like super professional though. O.O I SHOULD HAVE DONE ONE OF THOSE LOL. But I didn't think of it so oh well, maybe next year. XP I honestly didn't know some of the answers though???? LIKE IDK WHEN DID I START READING YOUR BLOG??? I guess I'm just going to put in September because that seems about right to me. XD
AND YESS YOUR ALBUM THOUGH.
YESSS I GOT SICK...oh dear, hope your family gets better!!
DeleteHaha, thank you!! I'm really happy with how the survey turned out. :)

Sorry to hear that your sick, and I hope you get better soon! Congrats on finishing your first draft! And that Christmas album was just GREAT!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you! :D Wow, I really appreciate it!!!
DeleteAn early Happy New Year to you! Ooo...I might steal your survey idea. If you don't mind. ;) That's a bummer that y'all are sick. :( The worst thing about winter is that it appears to be the time when everyone gets sick (either with colds or viruses). Praying that you get better soon! Lingering coughs are the worst. >.<
ReplyDeleteSo excited that you finished your book!! That's always an amazing feeling...finishing a book. *happy sigh*
Oh, and your Christmas album...FABULOUS. You have an amazing gift and it's so neat that you're willing to share your talent with us. :)
God bless you throughout 2017!!
Haha PLEASE DO STEAL IT I would be flattered!! Haha yes...the cough...
DeleteThank you!!!! :)
THANKS!! YOU ARE TOO KIND. Please have a great year as well! I need to check out your blog (I'm assuming you have one), I've been meaning to do that. :)
Aw, it's sad that you're sick. (Make sure to take plenty of lemon and honey and it also helps to prevent it for the future).
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're accomplished so much! It's good not to be lazy (like me, ahem). You've finished your book? Wow... does that mean what I think it might mean for the future...?
Gonna do your survey. Byee
AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Thank you. :)
DeleteHaha, yes!! Thanks! You'll be hearing more about my book, don't worry. ;)
THANK YOU SO MUCH, SAME TO YOU!!
Hope ya'll are feeling better! Being sick is no fun.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing your novel. I also finished a novel in 2016! :D

Happy New Year! :)
